Dear Lord, why am I always surprised at the painful trials I suffer, as though something strange were happening to me. Help me to rejoice that I participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that I may be overjoyed when Your glory is revealed. If I am insulted because of the name of Your Son, Christ, I am blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rest on me. 1 Peter 4:12-14
Long verse today, but a very comforting one. When we face problems in our life, it's comforting to remember that Christ suffered for us. When we are weary or discouraged, his example of endurance in suffering should help us to face our problems with a clearer head and a compassionate heart.
