Well, today was not a good mindful eating day. We had to run to Lafayette to return some things to Menards, visited a lady in the hospital then went to Outback to have lunch. We had a gift card to use.
I helped myself to several pieces of their bread they put on the table. Had a steak, but instead of having two servings of green vegetables, I opted for broccoli and a sweet potato. The potato was not the best option. I also ended the meal with one of their mini chocolate mousse desserts...which I totally was not hungry for. It was something I wanted, did not need. I was way too full when we left. A meal that I overate on and felt uncomfortable after.
Tomorrow is another day.....

Well today was more of a challenge. We had a carry in lunch at the bus barn day...kind of an end of the school year thing. Those type of things are always difficult to eat mindfully at. I don't believe I overate, but I did indulge in a few baked goodies which are always a temptation for me.
I also nibbled a bit more during the day than I have been.
I keep intending to begin working through the Intuitive Eating workbook I bought and now that school is over for the summer, now might be a good time to do that.

Sunday, a day for erratic eating. Today was my day to do services at both Wolcott UMC and Mt. Zion so I wind up eating a light breakfast in between the two. I ate a banana before the first service. Then, I stopped at Family Express gas station. This station has some decent snack options. I picked up a tray with apple slices, cheese cubes and a few pecans. That was breakfast on my way to Mt. Zion. I also bought a container with hummus and pretzels. I actually ate that for lunch when I got home.
Chris had planned on pork chops on the grill for a mid afternoon dinner, but he got called to a pastoral emergency at his church so I wound up going out to dinner with my mom at about 3pm. We went to a restaurant in town. I like eating off the Senior menu as the portions are smaller. I got the chopped steak dinner with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. I probably ate about 2/3 of the meal and was satisfied.
Probably no dinner tonight since it was a late, late lunch. Just got home from a one mile walk. Chris is on his way home as well. If I feel hungry this evening, am just going to have a light snack. All in all, it was a decent day of mindful eating.

Well, I've fallen away from my blog again. In the last couple of weeks Chris has gotten very concerned with passing his DOT physical that is coming up and decided to go extreme and follow the ketogenic diet. He's doing fairly good on it, dropping 20 pounds and has not had too many cravings. I stuck with it for a week and a half, did drop 10 pounds, but just can't follow it any longer. Tooo extreme.
I really don't want to go back to tracking food so am going to try the blog again. Try to be mindful, etc. Have not had too much success with this approach either, but with Chris sticking with the K-diet we have very little tempting food in the house which is really how it should be. No junk, no processed, no candy, etc. I have added back some carb foods like oatmeal, high fiber bread, but other wise there are no processed foods in our pantry right now.
So, back to the blog and hopefully just eating more mindfully and healthfully.

Well, today my diet was kind of a mish mosh. I took with on the morning bus run one of my oatmeal bars and a banana. Later, after I got back home my mom and I ran to Wolcott so I could do my bulletins for Sunday service, so mom and I had breakfast at the little cafe in town.
I had two scrambled eggs, half order of hashbrowns and an order of toast.
On the way home, we had to stop at The Homestead. I bought a blueberry scone which was my snack for this evening. (edit...forgot I also bought a chocolate covered peanut butter egg at store and ate it in the car on the way home. An impulsive bad snack.)
I really didn't have any lunch since we ate the breakfast around 10am. So, around 1pm I had a gluten free monster cookie with a small glass of milk. There were better things I could have eaten, but also worse.
One other afternoon snack was a small bag of Cheeze-It crackers.
For dinner I had a hamburger with no bun, some peas and a few Sun chips. I really did not overeat today, but also did not make great choices.
No walk today..it's freaking cold for April.

So far today, while on the school bus I ate a small oatmeal bar and a half a banana. Later, Chris and I went out for breakfast at a local restaurant. I had the normal 2 egg/bacon/hash brown/toast breakfast. Only ate half the hash browns, they give you so much! Ate 2 slices of the toast.
Lunch today will probably be another tuna fish on a sandwich round, but will record what I actually eat later today.
Yes, tuna fish with mayo on a sandwich round as well as a few Sun chips was what I had for lunch.
Snack---had a piece of my energy bar and also a small bag of Graham crackers.
Dinner tonight will be one slice of pizza. At least am going to try and eat one slice. Chris wanted pizza from our favorite pizza place and I'm waiting for him to bring it home now.
Different subject...I broke our wifi bathroom scale today. Was picking it up to clean the floor and bumped the toilet. It has an all glass top and the thing shattered. Luckily it's safety glass so wasn't too bad to clean up. The scale was about 3 or so years old and I really liked it. I just don't want to spend the money on a new one right now. They cost between 65.00 on up to 200.00. So, we will be scaleless for awhile.

This morning I took on the school bus a banana and one of the oatmeal bars I made. Plus some coffee, that was breakfast.
Later for a snack I ate a half of an energy bar. The energy bars I like I buy at a bakery near me. They make these really good homemade, gluten free energy bars. The bars are made up of peanut butter, flax seeds, oat meal and some other things. They are a good one or two bite snack that is pretty satisfying, for me at least. There are recipes all over the internet for similar bars, but being the lazy butt that I am and since I have a source nearby that makes them...I just buy them.
Ok, on to lunch. Had tuna fish with a bit of mayo and mustard on one of those sandwich rounds and a few Sun Chips.
Snack---a little snack bag of bunny grahams.
Dinner - Homemade chicken noodle soup, small bowl and a small slice of Italian bread with a bit of butter. Couple bits of chocolate barkthins.
Evening snack - toasted english muffin with some butter and grape jelly. Small glass of milk.
All in all, not a bad day. Weather did not cooperate for a walk, rained most of the day. I did spend 10 - 15 minutes doing some floor exercises so at least I did something! Hopefully I can get a walk in tomorrow.

Wow, I haven't posted in my blog for a year. I guess I am just someone who is not good at keeping a consistent blog. I'm actually coming back here to use it as a place to record my daily food intake. I really need to lose weight, but I just don't want to do the tedious food logging at places like "My Fitness Pal" or "Weight Watchers". I'm just going to try recording what I eat. I'm not going weigh anything, but will just try to eat sensibly, mindfully, etc. My weight today - 233. (see, I very much need to drop some weight)
For exercise, I'm going to get back to walking. Since spring is here (tho it doesn't feel like it today) I'm going to make a goal of walking at least 4 times a week. I have a set of nice exercise bands and plan to use those at home. Chris and I did rejoin the local gym, but I knew that was a mistake. I just am never motivated to go there. I'm more inclined to head out to walk outside.
So, for today so far:
Breakfast - Oatmeal, two packs of sugar and a little milk, a scrambled egg.
Lunch - Mixed green salad with some chopped turkey, black olives and Newman's Oil and Vinegar dressing
Snacks so far - banana, couple pieces of Barkthins chocolate.
Another snack: - oatmeal banana bar. I found a recipe for baked oatmeal banana bars. I'm trying to find something we can take on the school bus in the early morning and the oatmeal bars may work. They turned out really good..going to try the recipe for a peanut butter oatmeal bar next. They also make for a good snack.
Dinner - ground chicken burger, a sweet potato with a bit of butter. Should have had some greens, but didn't.
Evening snack - English muffin with butter and jelly. Small glass of milk.
All in all I feel I did pretty well today. Hopefully I can get a walk in tomorrow if it doesn't rain all day.
