Well, today was not a good mindful eating day. We had to run to Lafayette to return some things to Menards, visited a lady in the hospital then went to Outback to have lunch. We had a gift card to use.
I helped myself to several pieces of their bread they put on the table. Had a steak, but instead of having two servings of green vegetables, I opted for broccoli and a sweet potato. The potato was not the best option. I also ended the meal with one of their mini chocolate mousse desserts...which I totally was not hungry for. It was something I wanted, did not need. I was way too full when we left. A meal that I overate on and felt uncomfortable after.
Tomorrow is another day.....

Well today was more of a challenge. We had a carry in lunch at the bus barn day...kind of an end of the school year thing. Those type of things are always difficult to eat mindfully at. I don't believe I overate, but I did indulge in a few baked goodies which are always a temptation for me.
I also nibbled a bit more during the day than I have been.
I keep intending to begin working through the Intuitive Eating workbook I bought and now that school is over for the summer, now might be a good time to do that.

Sunday, a day for erratic eating. Today was my day to do services at both Wolcott UMC and Mt. Zion so I wind up eating a light breakfast in between the two. I ate a banana before the first service. Then, I stopped at Family Express gas station. This station has some decent snack options. I picked up a tray with apple slices, cheese cubes and a few pecans. That was breakfast on my way to Mt. Zion. I also bought a container with hummus and pretzels. I actually ate that for lunch when I got home.
Chris had planned on pork chops on the grill for a mid afternoon dinner, but he got called to a pastoral emergency at his church so I wound up going out to dinner with my mom at about 3pm. We went to a restaurant in town. I like eating off the Senior menu as the portions are smaller. I got the chopped steak dinner with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. I probably ate about 2/3 of the meal and was satisfied.
Probably no dinner tonight since it was a late, late lunch. Just got home from a one mile walk. Chris is on his way home as well. If I feel hungry this evening, am just going to have a light snack. All in all, it was a decent day of mindful eating.

Well, I've fallen away from my blog again. In the last couple of weeks Chris has gotten very concerned with passing his DOT physical that is coming up and decided to go extreme and follow the ketogenic diet. He's doing fairly good on it, dropping 20 pounds and has not had too many cravings. I stuck with it for a week and a half, did drop 10 pounds, but just can't follow it any longer. Tooo extreme.
I really don't want to go back to tracking food so am going to try the blog again. Try to be mindful, etc. Have not had too much success with this approach either, but with Chris sticking with the K-diet we have very little tempting food in the house which is really how it should be. No junk, no processed, no candy, etc. I have added back some carb foods like oatmeal, high fiber bread, but other wise there are no processed foods in our pantry right now.
So, back to the blog and hopefully just eating more mindfully and healthfully.
