In the last year Chris and I have gone through a lot of changes. Last year we sold the big old house we lived in here in Rensselaer and had a much smaller home built right behind my mother. Here is a pic of our new home taken last Christmas. We moved in at the very end of October.
As homes go, it's a small fairly basic house all on one floor. No basement, so no place to go if a tornado is coming...but also no worries of water and flooding with a basement. We love it and right now see it as a home we will be in from now on. Another change was Chris lost his job at St. Joseph College with the closing of the college. That whole thing would take up a lot of words here, let's just say the town is still reeling from it closing. Will it reopen? Who knows.
Last October we lost our yellow lab Charlotte, a dog who was as close to being a perfect dog as we have ever known. Her loss hit us hard. She had had a tumor removed near her year two years prior and the cancer came back fast last summer. It grew fast and we had her put to sleep on October 26 last year, a day which happens to be our wedding anniversary.
We have since adopted a German Wire Haired Pointer named Toby through a rescue group. He is quite a story and I will save that for another blog post.
I will continue catch up posts here tomorrow....that is all for today. Blessings to whomever may be reading this!

Bringing the blog back to life.
I looked back and see I first began this blog in April of 2010. Seven year ago! I have, for the most part, let this blog go dormant for long periods of time. Then, something nudges me to begin writing in it again...then, again I stop.
Well, I have again brought it back to life. Not sure why, more just for a place to write down my thoughts. My last post was in 2015. I had gone on a brief binge of posting recipes that I was trying. In the two years since I posted here, I am now the minister of two churches. If someone had asked me a few years ago if I was interested in going into the ministry, I would have chuckled and thought they were asking the wrong person. However, here I am a Licensed Local Pastor within the Methodist Church and am really enjoying it and the adventure it is taking me on. What will I be posting here now? I really have no idea. Will anyone be reading it? That, I have no idea as well. I wish I had restarted this last year when I was first appointed to Wolcott UMC. Better late than never, I suppose. More tomorrow.....
